Ginebra - Air21 Finals, Predictions From Shady Crystal Ball
August 5, 2008 by Benhur
1. Prior to game one, JC Intal being interviewed by my favorite “analyst” Barry Pascua… Barry asks, “what adjustments have you made to prepare for this finals?” Intal will say, “Sino Kalaban? La Salle?” It will not end there folks, Barry will say his famous line, “YUN NA NGA EH!”
2. Jayjay Helterbrand will dribble the ball 67% of the time Ginebra has it.
3. Leo Isaac will secretly cheer for Ginebra. He thinks, it’s 1988.
4. In game 3, with Air 21 down in the fourth quarter and Gary David only able to choke, err, chalk up 4 points and contemplating on an incoming loss, he will ask, “WHO THE HELL GAVE ME, MR. PURE ENERGY MONICKER.” That’s just friggin un-creative. He’ll suggest, try “Mr. Hataw Na!” Try “Shout For Points.” Try “Take Me Out Of The Bench.”
5. Broadcasters/game analysts will say this 234 times (79 times from Quinito Henson alone, my church mate btw @ Tierra Nueva), Paul Artadi brings hustle and energy.
6. To which, Jason nodding, he’ll say, so therefore Paul Artadi has future in the play-by-play tv job. Turns out, pre-requisite for a TV anchor job today is be a PBA energy guy, intangibles guy and someday you’ll earn megabucks doing TV games. Ask Reyes, Richard Del Rosario, Jason Webb and Peter Martin. ( I like Jason Webb and Richard Del Rosario btw. Reyes, dunno, he’s not given a chance to do games. Peter Martin, he’s better managing SMC teams.)
7. Bo Perasol will again cry after winning game 4. He’ll even cry louder once he’s been informed, they are down 1-3.
8. Finally, before game 5 tip-off, Robert Jaworski will say his allegiance, Air or Gin? To date, his choice is still unknown nor his senate accomplishments (if any).
9. During the halftime of game 6 (Gins leading 4-1), Ginebra up by 30 points, looking to close out the Express, Ed Picson will fart while doing the halftime analysis, as he can no longer contain his emotions. He’s one heck of die-hard Ginebra fan.
10. KG Caneleta, with Air21 down by 20 points, 4th quarter of game 6, will shout, “Slam Dunk Na Lang!”
11. During he crowning of Ginebra, floor anchor Jason Webb will interview Ginebra Team Manager, Allan Caidic will go to the podium. Jason says, “Samboy is the team captain.” Caidic shakes head, saying, he’s now lost as to what his role is in the SMC teams nowadays.
12. After winning the Championship, american import Chris Alexander will proclaim, he is the best player in the world. That’s the trend. Look up Paul Pierce claim.
A real preview of the finals here.
See you at the Dome.

I’ll be watching at Games 3 and 4. Magkano na ba tickets ngayon?
^ I’ll get my tickets for Upper Box A tomorrow. 100 pesos pala ang Upper A, 330 na pag lower box C. Masaya pag sa Upper Box because of the crowd, nagiging tropa mo lahat kahit di mo kilala. They’re rowdy as hell!

9. During the halftime of game 6 (Gins leading 4-1), Ginebra up by 30 points, looking to close out the Express, Ed Picson will fart while doing the halftime analysis, as he can no longer contain his emotions. He’s one heck of die-hard Ginebra fan.

@chris, got you!
hey mr.benhur, what happened to your ginebra kongs? 34 pts. watta shame! ouch. stop crying now.
it’s now 2-1.
air 2-1. express trophy on the way!
Well, i’m an air21 fan… so far so good, some comments here favoring Ginebra are already down … 4-0? Naaahhh!!!
4-1? Is GAme 2 not a sign that air21 is competitive saying it’s a 4-1? (i’m not predicting like you guys but….) It might end the other way kasi 2-1 na ang Air21!
It’s Air 2-1 as off now!!!
KEEP UP THE FAITH Air21 fans!!!
God bless us all!
haha.. that’s nice benhur.. but someone told me the attendance was 15,142… 15,000 are ginebra fans… =)
i’ll not make a prediction as well, but i sure hope ginebra will tie the series tomorrow. =)
katulad ka rin pala nila, minamaliit ang air21 dahil kokonti ang fans… Haaay, naku… pag wla ang maibato, fans na marami ang ipinagsisigawan… we admit naman na kokonti kami ah… And we respect your team Ginebra because magagaling naman talaga sila…
Anyway, God bless us all!!!
sir neil, me website din pala ung ginebra??? o website-wbesitan lang. hehe. cnu ba ang umiinom ng ginebra, diba kanto…As in K.A.N.T.O. boys diba? so expect them to have kanto attitudes din. kitang kita naman sa asal nila. pufft.
^ Unfortunately, as much as I hate to break it out for you.. without those Kanto boys that you’re talking about, PBA will be defunct right now.
I saw the game earlier, and there were like.. 100 Air 21 fans. And I thought, wow.. 50 of those tickets could also be complimentary tickets!
wahaha.. y the hatred on fans? and who cares about their lifestyle, huh?! ginebra fans are OUT whether we are at the TOP or at the BOTTOM of the team standings. that’s how we support them. and we make the world know. and y are u offended if they make “bastos” to the air21 players? u do that to ginebra players, too, don’t you?!?! that’s life, u know. and if u really are a basketball fan, that must be trivial.
ginebra fans are OUT whether we are at the TOP or at the BOTTOM of the team standings. that’s how we support them. and we make the world know
Exactly.
One thing we can say aloud and proud is that we’re definitely not casual fans. We are not fair weathered fans who show up when we’re winning and be gone and when we’re goners. I don’t think I can say the same thing about Air 21 fans.
To d one who is doubtful of the website of the Barangay Ginebra Kings., i think ur understimating d bgk fans.,bgk websites are alternative as you can’t ever imagine.,try to visit one of them then you will discover wat i’m talking about
BGK won the series; Air21 the best team w/o Fil-shAm’s

Congratulations to Barangay Ginebra Kings for winning the championship against the pure Filipino team aside from import, Air21 Express. They won the title by always saying they won it by heart. Yeah Right! Anyway, Thanks for the best game played ever by Paul Artadi and Ronald Tubid. The game is much more exciting because of these two players providing excellent basketball throughout the series. Nice Job!
We all know that Barangay Ginebra is the most popular basketball team in the Philippines, because it markets liquor that is very affordable and very nice drink for Filipinos. The fan rocks the Araneta Coliseum by giving support to their favorite team every time Ginebra San Miguel plays in the venue. Ten percent of the crowd goes to “UBE REPUBLIC” I am one of them.
I am much very proud for the Air21 Express because even without Fil-Sham’s or lets say Half Filipinos-Half Blood the team still reach the finals with pure heart and determination till the very last game. It is very nice to still have a team who believe in all pure Filipino balers rather than getting a fil-am player just to win a title. So keep it up Air21 management for not selecting fil-am players in a draft.
The Legend Robert Jaworski is not happy for the championship of Ginebra definitely and many Filipinos. Because having that kind of Ginebra line-up was totally messed. Fil-Ams players can win you a crown in the PBA but if we all try to believe in our pure Filipino balers we can win in the international tournament.
ABC 5, and the new “TV 5 Shake mo, TV mo” were owned by Mr. Tony Boy Cojuanco and who owns the three teams in the PBA, of course San Miguel Corporation by the Cojuanco’s. They are Purefoods TJ Giants, Magnolia Beverage Masters and the Barangay Ginebra Kings. TV 5 ends the contract to the PBA for the last game of this season in a very exciting championship game. Finally, “It’s over” for the ABC and TV 5 coverage. No more bias coverage and one sided support for the Cojuanco’s team.
Next season the PBA will be aired over CS “Channel 9” and the Basketball TV under the Solar Entertainment Corporation. We must expect a lot of good coverage, more camera views, good english speaking commentators not bias, and more PBA Action and PBA Classic Game Replay in Basketball TV.
