Ball Hog: Amare - Kevin Trade, Duremdes Decline, Murray and Davis Dunks and Bowen’s Defense

May 15, 2007 by Benhur

Amare - Kevin Swap

Not many times that I’ll disagree with Bill Simmons. But this Amare - Garnett trade is the Simmon’s first big suggestion I’ll invalidate. There is no way the Suns will give Amare away for an aging Garnett.

Duremdes Decline

Duremdes is paid P500,000 for scoring 2.7 points per game with zero defense. I know I can store 3 points per game for Coke, for free (with no defense too). In fairness to Duremdes, only 33 or 34 years (still young eh?), he’s been ravaged with critical injuries the last 3 to 4 years. Story here.

Joseph Garth Kicked Asi’s Butt

Here’s the profile of the man who scored 39 points and 12 rebounds to power the Iranian Basketball team to a 101 - 88 demotion of the RP Basketball team. Garth was so dominating with his overall inside presence that RP big men Asi Taulava, Mick Pennisi and Enrico Villanueva were virtually powerless in containing him and all had aches and pains to show for their futile efforts.

Baron Owned AK47, Jackson Dusting Baron Davis

Just like the Cold War, here’s the U.S. all-over a Russian. Baron Davis posterizing Kirelenko here. See how he un-tucked his jersey and see Stephen Jackson cleaning-up the mess.

Flip Murray Went Up, Stared Down

And one! With the DP trailing, Flip Murray gave the Piston’s something to cheer about yesterday. Another facial served. But see Kirk giving the hand to Flip Murray. Did he punch Flip in the groin? This is perhaps a tactic learn from Bruce Bowen School of Defense.

The Bruce Bowen Collection

Speaking of Bruce almighty, just this 2007 West Semis alone, he kneed Steve Nash. He planted a foot on Amare Stoudemire too. This one is a special variety. Bruce Bowen does Bruce Lee. Sweet shoe straight to Wally’s face. Even Ray Allen got a kick from Bruce Bowen at the back too. Even the often injured Steve Francis saw the wrath of Bruce Bowen. Here’s another foot inplant variety by Bruce Bowen. Two other video clips of Bowen undercutting a player here and here. Is he dirty or what? Don’t worry now, the NBA is looking (damn time) at Bruce Bowen now.

Filipino breaks Guinness’ record for longest dribble

He dribbled for 45 hours, 10 minutes and 22 seconds. Nonstop. Erwin Evangelista, of Quezon City, took home the Guiness’ record for the “World’s Longest Dribble”. The previous record was 26 hours and 40 minutes by African-American Joseph Odhiambo, who dribbled through the streets of Pheonix Arizona. Full Entry…
