God hates Shaun Livingston
February 28, 2007 by Chrisangelo · 8 Comments
Let’s talk about potential. Tell me, if you would see a 6′7″ highschool kid who plays the point guard position pretty well, what comes in to your mind? Correct, pure potential and a good basketball future. That’s what scouts saw in Shaun Livingston.
Shaun Livingston was drafted in 2004. He came out of highschool by the way. He neglected Duke’s scholarship offer and was already a starter for coach Mike Dunleavy Sr. But then the dream turned into a nightmare. Read more

Alex Compton Will Play in the PBA: Finally!
February 27, 2007 by Benhur · 15 Comments
Running the PBA is like running a business. With a dozen PBA superstars out to fight for the Philippines in international meets and with no marquee (’cept perhaps for Marquin, rhyme intended) import to showcase, PBA board decided to bend the rules a little bit. They want to create some more buzz. And here’s the news…
ALEX COMPTOM will play in the P.B.A.

PBA Philippine Cup Cyber Awards Anyone?
February 25, 2007 by Chrisangelo · 23 Comments
I’ve been planning to make this article for a long time now but thanks to some sort of illness called procrastination, I wasn’t able to do one. So I guess, now’s my only chance to make one. Mainly because The Reinforced Conference will start next Sunday. Ok, here it goes.
I’ll still base it on the traditional awards like the conference mvp, mythical team, 2nd mythical team, Mr. Energy, rookie of the year, most improved player of the year and the 6thman of the year. Im going to name my winners and you guys are going to name yours. And after awhile I’ll count all the votes and we’ll name the first ever Cyber Awards winners. Alright here’s mine. Read more

Last December, I made an entry about my own PBA “Dream Team”.
I had Asi Taulava, Kerby Raymundo, Eric Menk, Mick Penissi (as a back-up if Pingris and Reavis are not convincing), the 110 percent man - Rudy Hatfield, Danny Seigle, Don Don Hontiveros, James Yap, Mark Caguioa, Willie Miller, Jayjay Helterbrand, Jimmy Alapag. Read more
There Is Hope For James Yap
February 25, 2007 by Bionix · 8 Comments
Purefoods’ James Yap is having a bad year eh? His team was booted out by Talk and Text during the quarter finals, 3-1. From All-Filipino Champions to being out early in the QF, this is a downgrade.
Purefoods’ James Yap is having a bad month eh? His marriage with Philippine TV Queen Kris Aquino is a subject of harsh blind items. Blind items that somehow had some juice in it. Now headlining every showbiz gossip shows around town, this could turn nastier in the coming days. From being sports headliner to tabloid filler, this is a downgrade. Read more
Final 12 PBA Players Named
February 24, 2007 by .:. · 29 Comments
TWELVE brave souls. One common mission.
The roster of the RP men’s basketball team out to seek the country’s first ever Olympic berth in 34 years was finally unveiled Saturday, an all-pro selection which its high-profiled mentor best describes as a bunch of young, quick and fundamentally sound players.
Coach Chot Reyes named five guards, five forwards and two slotmen to the national squad whose first primary task begins this summer when it takes part in two South East Asian Basketball Association (SEABA) qualifying tournaments.
“We wanted to make sure that the team we picked is the best team, not necessarily the best players or the best talents, because in the end, the only way we’re going to win is if we have superior teamwork and if we have a lot of players willing to sacrifice their individual goals and interests for the good of the team,” said Reyes when he formally announced the 12 players comprising the RP squad before the media at the Grilla Grill in Libis, Quezon City.
Comprising the guard spots are Talk N Text’s Jimmy Alapag and Renren Ritualo, the Ginebra duo of Mark Caguioa and Jayjay Helterbrand and Dondon Hontiveros of San Miguel.
San Miguel forward Danny Seigle leads the wingmen, along with Ginebra’s Rudy Hatfield, Tony de la Cruz of Alaska, Air21’s Ranidel de Ocampo and Kerby Raymundo of Purefoods.
Manning the center slot is Asi Taulava of Talk N Text and surprise pick Mick Pennisi of Red Bull.
Thoughts on game 6: Ginebra completes comeback, Wins the Championship
February 23, 2007 by Chrisangelo · 9 Comments
After a shaky 0-2 start, Ginebra completed their comeback. With their never say die attitude and Class A intensity and energy, they proved their critics wrong and eventually claimed the PBA Philippine Cup Championship.
Sunday’s heroics on a friday
Now tell me, who would ever expect Sunday Salvacion to hit three clutch baskets at crunchtime? Personally, I didnt. But hey he did and I think he’s one of the main reasons why the kings are celebrating right now. Nailed two threepointers and a long two to keep the kings in the game before Jayjay’s two winning free throws. Read more
Friday NBA Bulletin

No Big Deal
At the end of the NBA trade deadline, only two deals got done and both are not playoffs altering trades. Anthony Johnson being traded by the Dallas Mavs for second round draft pick and peanut butter. While, Juan Dixon went to Raptors and Brian Colangelo sent Fred Jones (formerly of Pacers) to his hometown, Portland Trail Blazers. Deals featuring Jason Kidd, Mike Bibby and Vince Carter went all kaput. Cavs were aiming for Mike Bibby but Cavs had no piece to offer. Kidd was seriously being targeted by Lakers. But Jersey Nets were asking for too much, too big and too young for a 13-year banged up veteran player like Kidd. Thorn wanted a deal that features Bynum. Read more
